What is MS?
MS qualifies you as a specialist surgeon. The 3-year programme includes intensive OT exposure, ward rounds, casualty duty, and a thesis. After MS, doctors typically pursue MCh super-specialty (3 more years) or join hospitals/clinics as consultant surgeons.
Admission is via NEET-PG (currently) / NExT (from 2027-28 onwards), with seat allocation through MCC (50% AIQ + Deemed + AIIMS) and state PG counselling (50%). Total ~40,000 MS/MD seats in India.

- MBBS from NMC-recognised college
- Completed 1-year rotatory internship
- Permanent registration with State Medical Council
- Qualified NEET-PG / NExT score
- No age limit
